July 13, 2009 GALA Board of Directors Conference Call Meeting Synopsis
- Approved the minutes from the June 1 & Special BOD Meeting of June 15, 2009
- Received report on Bylaw Balloting; all eight (8) changes were adopted.
- The Bylaws, as revised, have been submitted to Andrew Chesnutt, webmaster, and uploaded to the GALA website.
- Received the verbal report of the Treasurer with current account balance.
- Additional memorial donations have been received in memory of Allan Zimmerman.
- Paid registrations for the Camp Doniphan Retreat are beginning to be received.
- D. Woosely, WCN liaison, reported on activities of WCN.
- D. Howard provided a Retreat Schedule for Camp Doniphan. The revisions will be made as suggested and the schedule will be transmitted to Andrew Chesnutt for uploading to the GALA website.
- A GALA Board meeting will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2009 in the Independence, MO area; location & time to be determined.
- Newsletter article assignments were reviewed & updated.
- Discussion was entertained about possible new pins & lanyards.
- The GALA facebook page now has 95 members; 27 have indicated that they will be attending the Camp Doniphan GALA Retreat!
- Plans have begun to take shape for activities at the 2010 Community of Christ World Conference.
